What was the first thing you did when you turned 18? For me, it was creating an Airbnb account—and I am convinced this decision led me where I am today.
I just realised this week that I've been an Airbnb enthusiast for 10 years now (yay 🎉 ). Back in my student days, it was an affordable way to explore Europe, along with cheap flights and good deals. Since then, I have been lucky enough to find amazing homes in Barcelona, Dublin, Porto, Prague, Berlin, Oslo, Stockholm, Milano... actually in 39 different places! 🗺

Meeting hosts who pour their passion into maintaining their Airbnb has been nothing short of inspiring. It sparked a genuine interest in hospitality that has stuck with me ever since. ✨
Like many other designers, I have also witnessed Airbnb's impressive evolution over the years: It has become one of the most user-friendly apps, transforming the way people travel and search for accommodations. More recently, the addition of 'experiences' has been a brilliant touch, have you tried one of these activities yet? 😊
There are a few reasons why Airbnb has had a profound impact on my life and my career:
1️⃣ It broadened my perspective on diverse cultures, shaping me into a wandering designer who thrives on discovering more and diving deep into what makes us humans tick.
2️⃣ It showed me how powerful the internet is in bringing people together and sparked my interest in diving into the world of design.
3️⃣ It underscored the importance of feeling welcomed—a sentiment that is crucial whether you're traveling, attending an event, or even navigating a website. Trust me, it makes all the difference.
These reasons inspired me to collaborate with those who extend a warm welcome, creating unforgettable experiences. This aspiration, long-held in my mind, has now materialised into my current role as a brand designer specialising in the hospitality field: I'm thrilled to be contributing to the creation of memorable experiences for others. 🤗
